Look Who’s Talking

Look Who’s Talking has Kirstie Alley as an unwed mother, with her baby Mikey voiced by Bruce Willis, as the product of an affair with married businessman George Segal. John Travolta is a cab driver who becomes Mikey’s babysitter and substitute father.

Great comedy that works well in many ways. Best is the humorous, charming, and ultimately heartwarming interaction between the two main characters, played by John Travolta and Kirstie Alley.

But it’s not the novelty of a smart-aleck baby that makes Look Who’s Talking a good film. The formula didn’t work for two sequels, or the short-lived television adaptation “Baby Talk”. Willis and John Travolta generate considerable charm, but it is the quality of the script that allows them to do so.
