Raising Arizona
is an early Coen brothers film with Nic Cage and Holly Hunter. It’s the blackest, most twisted, demented comedy you could imagine. A childless couple plot to kidnap a cute baby from a rich family who have quintuplets.

Fortunately, it falls squarely within the bounds screwball comedy. It’s a love it or hate it kind of film, and unless you’re as twisted and warped as the Coen brothers, you’ll hate it. For me, the sheer ludicrousness of some of the situations (coupled with Barry Sonnenfeld’s appropriately complementary camera work) amount to unbridled hilarity.
